REFLECTIONS...DA VID

Peace & Greetings All,

This is the second installment of the pivot mode videos that I'm releasing called Reflections.  Revisiting my comments from the Stand by the Brother video, it appears that today's social climate is similar to that which birth my group Defiant Giants in the late 1980s.

The concept of Reflections was inspired by the murders of James Byrd, Jr. in Jasper, Texas in 1998 and Amadou Diallo in New York in 1999.  The Diallo murder, in particular, caused a national conversation.  I can recall people expressing to me how they couldn't believe that entering the new millennium a Black man could be killed by police in this manner. My response, in these conversations, would cause even more angst. I would simply ask, "When did it ever stop?"  Upon their responses of "What?!", I would follow up by stating, "This has been happening to Africans since we've been in this country."  "We have been abused and murdered by some within authoritative positions since the middle passage, if not before leaving the continent of Africa..."

There are many who would counter the focus of the ‘White’ police officers who’ve killed ‘Blacks’ with the deflection of the so called ‘Black’ on ‘Black’ criminal killings (I purposely used ‘so called’ for crime is crime...When another ethnicity commits the same crime, we do not say ‘White’ on ‘White’, Asian on Asian, etc...I do not condone these killings, I'm in harmony with the understanding that they are manifested due to many variables (This behavior needs to be addressed and eliminated)... Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, the esteemed Professor of Sociology at Georgetown University, in addressing this topic on TV, said (he said the following more eloquent than I will)...'That when ‘Blacks’ kill other ‘Blacks’, they are arrested, prosecuted and go to jail...He added that police officers are suppose to protect and serve the people'...With respect to those who disagree with protesting the killings, its due to seeing those police being acquitted and/or not having charges levied against them...&&& for those who want to present the 'Black' police officers who have killed 'Blacks' as evidence that its not about Race-ism, I will simply point out that 'Black' Overseers killed 'Black' enslaved people on the plantation...

PSA...All police officers are not bad & All 'Black' people are not criminals...

From my Nation of Gods & Earths Brothers & Sisters...

L. O. V. E. = 12 + 15 + 22 + 5 = 54 = 5 + 4 = 9 = BORN

It is time to utilize the fundamental glue of the Universe (Love) to Born a better vibration of interaction among the Hue-man species...

STAND BY THE BROTHER VID

Peace & Greetings All, I pray all is well with each of you.  I’m still in pivot mode since my last post in August.  Many of you may have known that I was part of a Hiphop group called Defiant Giants many moons ago.  In short, we formed at Howard University and were considered a politically conscious/Pro-Black group.  Although we didn’t sell a lot of records, we were critically acclaimed.  I was conversing with one of my Brothas from the group the other day and told him that the atmosphere that existed when we formed is prevalent today.  I also told him that the music that we preformed speaks to the happenings of today, specifically the open season on ‘Black’ men from multiple fronts.  With that said, I was checking out some of our songs and was compelled to share a couple of them with you.  The first one is titled Stand By the Brother’, performed by the founder of the group, Nubian Scholar.

It features Trenton’s own Mr. Doc Long and the producer’s (then) young son, Jahlique Jones.  The song was recorded in 2003, but Nubian wrote the poem years prior.  I dedicate this to all of the Men who are doing their part to Provide, Defend & Protect themselves, their Families and their Communities!  There are many in my FB family, One Love!...Shout out to my Nephew Kevin Muema  for the research and assistance on creating the video!

With that being said, enjoy!

THE BLUE FLAME

I've been asked about my motivation & intent of my Blog... Continued Study and meditation has revealed that we ALL are sooo much more than we've been taught (Mis-Education)...This is the reason I continue to promote that each of us can achieve more and reach our desired goals...
An aspect of self is the energy within all of us from the Creator that can be used to manifest physical results...

A few years ago, meditation and subsequent study drew me to the Blue Flame...
Among the many definitions, symbolism and meanings that I've come across, I thought these two would be good to share...

I like to shout Brotha Leon Rainbow for the effects he put on my pic a few years ago...

The Blue Flame purifies

The Blue Flame is a primary source of energy, a source of all other energies and present in the power of intent, cause, direction, centralization and unity. It’s keynote is Divine Will. The basic qualities of the blue flame are manifested through the energies of power, strength, faith and protection

THE FEW...THE MANY...U & I VERSE

Peace and Greetings, I pray that all is well with each of you.  I wanted to take a moment to make a pivot from my usual writings. Last month, I went to pick up dinner from one of my favorite restaurants and as I entered, CNN was airing a segment with two people commenting on what they wanted to hear from President Obama when he gave his speech in Dallas.  One was a supporter of police and wanted the president to unequivocally support the police locally and nationally.  The other wanted the president to speak towards stricter gun control laws.  Missing was the fact that humans had just lost their lives.  They both were using the moment to push the agendas of their backers…Seemingly, neither was concerned about what the other was saying nor were they speaking towards a solution for this problem or the problem of African American civilians being killed by some police officers.  To add to the scenario, the police supporter was a ‘White’ male and the gun control supporter was ‘Black’ (as if all Whites and Blacks feel the same as these two…)…Another conversation…

As I turned from the TV to continue to enter into the restaurant, my eyes met with a ‘White’ woman who was watching the program.  Her vibe read that she wanted to say something to me.  I politely said, “It appears that you want to share your thoughts, please…Share them”…She threw up her hands and said, “Why are people so stupid?!”…”We are all human!”…I smiled and said, “Please continue”…She spoke about how she was a retired EMT worker from the suburbs who worked in Trenton, NJ serving a diverse population of people (mostly African American and Latino).  Through this experience she had seen the best and worst of people.  She also spoke about being a gun owner, who loved to purchase them at gun shows and sell them throughout the years.  Lastly, she spoke about traveling throughout the United States and appreciating the diversity of the different people and cultures occupying the country.  I shared with her my ‘Army Brat’ experience (my Father was in the Army and my first 17 years of life was spent living on Army bases throughout this country and internationally).  I also shared how my family drove cross country from New York to California when I was a child, along with helping my Mother drive from Kansas to California when I was 16 (one can obtain a driver’s license at 16 in Kansas), subsequently meeting my Father in Hawaii due to him leaving ahead of us to prepare a home for the family on an Army base.  I echoed her sentiments about enjoying experiencing the diversity of people throughout the country and experiencing different cultures. We both concluded that generally speaking, most people want similar things (be law abiding, earn an honest living and be allowed to have their abilities dictate their ascension (without race-ism, sex-ism and class-ism impediments). We agreed that it was unfortunate that people don’t take the time to talk ‘WITH’ others versus ‘AT’ them.  Our conversation continued from the restaurant to the parking lot for a total of approximately 20 minutes, at which time, we told each other “God Bless and have a Great Day!”

We’ve all been manipulated by some who have placed themselves in positions to govern and mis-educate us.  These individuals take advantage of the ignorance of the masses to promote fear, doubt and mistrust of not only those who don’t look like you, but those who may not live in the same neighborhood, regardless of ethnicity….We all can do better…We MUST do better…If you’re not part of the solution, then you’re part of the problem…

Be mindful of accepting labels/titles created by others, ie. Conservative & Liberal…These are constructs based upon illusion used to divide…then conquer…NO ONE is all one thing…There are those who will espouse Conservative politics, but are very liberal on prostitution….& those who will espouse Liberal politics, yet manifest conservatism when it comes to helping those in need…Yeah, I said it!...

I’ll leave you with a piece I wrote in the early 2000s…

The Pledge of Allegiance

I pledge allegiance to God, the Essence of ALL creation…And to His righteousness for which he stands.  One Hue-man Family, superseding Ethnicity and Political boundaries, Respecting Diversity in Worship with Truth and Justice for All…God Bless the World…

WHO'S YOUR DRIVER...THE MOTIVE/MOTIVATION

What causes one person to set and accomplish their goals versus another who does not?  What does the former have that the latter does not exhibit?  Is it innate and/or learned behavior or some combination of both?  How does the former bring into harmony their subconscious and conscious to manifest their desired goal?

If you had an electronic device that could run on either batteries or electricity from a power cord (for this example, let’s eliminate the cord for mobility purposes), which source would you prefer? Most would choose the electricity for it represents seemingly unlimited power. For our purposes, batteries represent our own power and electricity represents the power of the Creator/Universe/ God/ Jesus/ Allah/Jehovah, etc.  The question is who is your Driver, batteries or electricity?

D.R.I.V.E.R.

D.ivine R.ecipe  I.nvigorating the V.ehicle E.nergizing R.esults

Merriam-Webster defines

Driver:  (there are multiple definitions…for our purposes, I’ll use the following):
-One that provides impulse or motivation

Motive/Motivation: -Of or pertaining to motion or the causing of motion.

Let’s examine the acronym D.R.I.V.E.R.  Simply put, it means the utilizing of the Creator/Universe/God/Jesus/Allah/Jehovah, etc. (The Source) to work through one to manifest desired results.

Anything that is physically manifested has followed the process of originating from the Source through one’s Spirit, Mind & Body (See previous post of same title).  Many of us are aware that the Creator is our source, but we’ve been mis-educated on how to consistently channel this energy for our benefit.  We’ve been mis-educated/conditioned/trained to seek salvation/inspiration outside of self, when it’s been inside of self all along.  Through this designed mis-education, the Creator still resides within waiting for each of us to ‘plug-in’ to the electricity to channel the unlimited energy...Make it plain, Sir…

Within the last several months, three friends shared with me the emotional challenges they were experiencing, as it pertained to relationship breakups. Although each situation was different, there was a common thread among them.  Each relied on their energy (batteries) and the other person’s energy, instead of the Creator’s (electricity).  They all questioned if they would be able to trust another (or feared getting close to another) partner in the future. I expressed to them that it wasn’t about trusting the other person; it was about being in harmony with the Creator.  When in harmony, you are given signs (intuition) to help guide you during your interactions with people.  Unfortunately at times, we tend to ignore them.  When in harmony with the Creator, you become educated that Love is first realized within self and then shared with others. It is not sought within others to complete you.  I asked each of them to say daily ‘I Am Love, I Am All Powerful!’ especially when they were experiencing moments of self-doubt.  This simple mantra puts one in harmony with the Creator and empowers the individual with self-love, self-confidence and awareness. It clears the pathway for the unlimited electricity to flow through our body vehicle. Also, it’s important for one to be comfortable with their company and to exhibit the principles in which they desire to attract.

Maslow's Hierarchy of needs is as follows:  Biological and Physiological (air, food, shelter, etc.), Safety, Love, Esteem and Self-Actualization.

With respect to the first two basic and fundamental needs, Love plays a significant role on the road to Esteem and Self Actualization.  Love can be the road block that prevents growth or the spring board that propels an individual forward.  This makes it paramount to select the appropriate D.R.I.V.E.R in order to motivate one to their full potential, that Uniquely Perfect self!  Embrace the Uniqueness of self & become one with Self…

Utilizing the energy of the Creator (electricity) is the key to achieving all of one's goals from interpersonal relationships, career to exercise and dietary.  It's in you to achieve!

I'd like to leave you with some lyrics from a song by the late Teddy Pendergrass.  It’s titled,
‘You Can’t Hide from Yourself.’

“…The truth is a light, light shining within.  When you look in the mirror, do you see a foe or a friend?  You can lie all you wanna, but one day you’re gonna, gonna breakdown, breakdown and let it all out…”

“…Make peace with yourself before you can love another, understand who and what you are before you can go any further. You can lie all you wanna, but one day you’re gonna, gonna breakdown, breakdown and let it all out…”

Here's a video 'https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lf6ujfKTl1Yof him performing the song...Enjoy!

Remember, the pathway to your salvation is to master your Breathing
