Recently, there was a train derailment that took place in East Palestine, Ohio that carried hazardous materials. These materials were released into the atmosphere during the process of addressing the derailment. Additionally, these materials were subsequently released or settled back onto the surface.
Business 101 dictates that profit must be increased each period for a company to be considered successful. Big corporations hire lobbyists to influence politicians to promote the corporations’ interests when creating legislation. If the politicians create legislation favoring corporations, the politicians will gain the support of the corporations, generally financially. Politicians from all parties to a degree, participate in this arrangement.
Historically, the GOP are for less government and side with business. Additionally, the GOP is for the reduction/elimination of government waste through spending. Lastly, their philosophy denotes that the Business Industry will regulate themselves…
In theory, that would make sense…Let me circle back to the previous paragraph starting with ‘Business 101’, as well as the recent derailment in Ohio. It’s being reported that in this situation, measures that were put in place by the Obama Administration would have provided the necessary safety that could have possibly prevented this situation. These measures were weakened/eliminated by the Trump Administration. With the weakening of the safety measures, which resulted in having more connected train cars on runs (for example, instead of 20 cars connected together, there now may be 30), combined with less employees to man these train runs…No mystery on the results…It’s further been reported that the employees who physically work on these trains have been complaining about the safety or lack thereof, prior to this derailment. What would make a company add more cars to a run?...(PROFIT)
PSA – Less Regulation + More Train Cars connected on a run + less employees (employee cost expense) = Greater Disastrous Potential.
In my first paragraph, I touched on the hazardous material that was released. This material will cause monumental negative health conditions for the people living in that area today, tomorrow and years from now. Potentially, it could affect any offspring from said individuals. Hello Flint, Michigan…For those who think/feel that they are safe for they do not live in that area, all things are connected…
What happens in California, affects Florida, Delaware, Maine and Kansas…Europe, Australia, Russia, Asia and Africa…

Deregulation without protection measures in place is irresponsible…Pay attention to the ways/actions of politicians, not just their words…Learn the definitions of the terms that are used and consider the context, to gain wisdom and understanding…
