The New Normal...Come again Selecta? (When Normal is the Problem)

I pray all is well with each of you and Happy European New Year. One may ask the reason I qualified the New Year in this manner. One, there are more than one new year recognitions. Two, I tend to pause when I say the greeting. I pause for it’s celebrated as the beginning of a year, yet it’s the Winter Cycle (when Nature is dormant or dead). Whereas, the Zodiac begins its new year during the Spring Cycle when Nature begins anew?!...I digress…Another conversation…

A few moons ago, I was having a conversation with one of my youngest Daughter’s teachers (her school has three levels (Pre-School, Pre-K and Kindergarten). Both of us enjoy comic books and the current Superhero movies that have been released the last few years. He (Mr. Jackson) is very critical of the story telling and more importantly, the imagery being presented. These areas have reduced his enjoyment of the movies. Specifically, his contention is how the Superheroes in these current movies argue with, and at times are insulting towards each other, whereas, the Villains are depicted in relatively perfect harmony with each other.

 It should be noted that Mr. Jackson wasn’t saying every movie, but there’s enough to cause this contention.

To bring it home, he referenced the fact that he teaches children between the ages three (3) to six (6) years old and can bear witness to the impression these images have on them. He specifically spoke of the Marvel Movies, Avengers Infinity War and Thor Ragnorok, where the heroes were constantly arguing amongst themselves and being insulting versus the Villains. While I was being amused by his passion, he closed with the Disney Movie, Aladdin, where the character stated, “It’s only wrong, if you get caught.”  He ended by stating that this has become the New Normal.

This is the point where he had my complete attention.

My next thoughts went to the movie soundtrack of one of my Youngest Daughter’s favorite movies, ‘Descendants 2’. There are two songs in particular that are of issue for me.

“Chillin like a Villain” song...

Seriously, you need to not be yourself

and “Ways to be Wicked”...

New –

-Something that is new; a new object, quality, condition, etc.:

-According with, constituting, or not deviating from a norm, rule, or principle

-Conforming to a type, standard, or regular pattern

-Conforming to the standard or the common type; usual; not abnormal; regular; natural.

There were multiple definitions for both words, but for the purposes of this discussion, I chose the aforementioned.

In examining the definitions of these words, we can conclude that ‘New’ is other than (different than) its predecessor and ‘Normal’ is the ‘norm’ or ‘standard’ not having a deviation from it.

If I’m accurate, then how do we have a ‘New Normal’? Although grammatically, it’s accurate to categorize something as ‘The New Normal’, my Spirit questions this concept. Shouldn’t something new have its own identity? Or is this a way to do what some of my Brothas categorize as ‘Tricknology’? In this case, condition one to internalize a deviation of the norm and call it ‘Normal’ or ‘The New Normal’.

Some examples…In this Country (maybe others also), it’s become normal to have substandard public education (mis-education). It’s become normal for ‘Black’ and ‘Brown’ people to be mistreated by some police officers, along with receiving little to no justice from the legal system. Lastly, it’s become normal for women to be treated as objects to be dominated for pleasure and/or have employment inequities. Fortunately, there’s always been ‘pushback’ towards these deviations.

Speaking of conditioning, I heard a statistic on satellite radio that since January 2018, on average, one time per week, there’s been a school shooting. I have not researched this statistic for its validity, but the concept is nevertheless alarming…If accurate, the populous is being conditioned to this ‘New Normal’…

These examples can/have conditioned the populous that it’s normal for people to be mistreated due to the hue of their skin. In addition, violence (in this case manifested in school shootings) has been around since the beginning of time. It’s unfortunate, but what can you do?...

I call BS on those types of comments. The Norm is to be at Peace with self and with others…Achieved by being in harmony with the U-n-I-verse (notice the spelling)…The aforementioned examples are deviations of the Norm manifested to condition the populous to not be at peace with self within Self…Feel me?

Hard Pivot

Have you ever watched infants and animals?...Specifically, when they are around a person who consciously/subconsciously manifest ill intent?...Focusing on the infant, have you noticed how they may start crying and/or become agitated?...Prior to being mis-educated on how not to rely on feeling (& trusting) the vibration they feel from others, they are able to sense or read electromagnetic vibration or fields (the Normal)…What’s your point Homie?...Being conditioned to manifest separation from others and from our own Spirit/Mind/Body connection has become the new normal…I shouldn’t call it new for it has been this way since the rule or dominance of Western/Linear Ideology (Actually, I should modify that statement by saying it’s been this way since Man/Womb-Man allowed Ego to figuratively separate (battle for individuality) from the Essence and that was Waaaaayyyyy before the rule of the European)…The Euro/Linear Mindset is the manifestation of said separation…Children running/ruling ‘Wild’… the Highlander would say, “There can only be One”….
